Robert Plant begrijpt de teksten van eigen 'Stairway to Heaven' niet

Robert Plant, zanger van Led Zeppelin, heeft een vreemde onthulling gedaan: hij begrijpt de tekst van de zelfgeschreven monsterhit 'Stairway to Heaven' niet. 'Ik probeer te begrijpen waarover ik het toen precies had'.

Zanger Robert Plant van Led Zeppelin begrijpt de tekst van "Stairway to Heaven", de monsterhit uit 1971 van de Britse rockband, niet. Dat heeft de man gezegd op een persconferentie in Londen ter gelegenheid van de lancering van "Celebration Day", een film over het laatste Led Zep-concert, vijf jaar geleden in de Londense O2 Arena. Merkwaardig, want Plant zelf heeft de tekst van die song geschreven.
"Ik heb last met de woorden van sommige periodes" uit de Zeppelin-discografie, zei de 64-jarige zanger. "Met de ervaring en het gewicht der jaren heb ik misschien niet meer hetzelfde aanvoelen van sommige woorden. Momenteel ben ik zelf aan het proberen te begrijpen waarover ik het toen precies had".
